I once heard an extremely loud disturbing noise and I thought my ball python was having a heart attack and coughing its lungs out simultaneously, but then I ran over to the cage and realized she was squeezing out a massive turd and some gas... with serious pressure causing the sounds.

I've only heard THAT noise twice in all my years and both times scared the life out of me !

So loud and completely without warning !

Holding my coral glow pastave last night while I was watching tv, and I swore I heard a faint whistling sound. My heart sank and I was convinced he had a RI! Turned tv off and listened real close but couldn’t hear it again. Turned tv back up and the damn whistling sound came back! Turned tv completely off and held snakes head close to my ear, nothing. Sat there a second as still and as quiet as I could be when I realized it was coming from me!

This happen to me also. Scared my own damn self. All I could do was laugh.

I'm a first-time ball python owner. My wife woke me up from a dead sleep she said the snake was making weird sound. I never heard it, but she said it sounded like she was gagging. This has happened 2 more times. It usually happenes 3 to 4 days after feeding. (3 times in 5 months that we know of.) I actually heard it this time. It sounded like gagging, almost like a dry heave with a gurgle. I searched you tube, found one video of a snake fart, (kinda sounded like my Zahra) and lots on how to check for a R.I. Yes I checked for a R.I. Any thoughts????
