Cool or warm?

Just a quick question...when you pick up your BP, is he/she cool to the touch, or warm?

If my hands are cold then they feel warm.
If my hands are warm then they feel cold.

If you are concerned about contact temps: use an IR Temp gun and measure surface temps. If you don't have one: They are like $15-20 on Amazon.

They should feel cool to the touch. Even if they're in their warm hide they shouldn't have access to anywhere over 90 degrees. So, they should be less than 90 degrees (though most hang out in their cool hides primarily except to digest) or cooler if not in a warm hide.

Our bodies are roughly 98.6. So anything below 90, often times in the high 70s will feel cool to us.

Some people like me have what I call "cold hand syndrome" where my hands are always cold to the touch to other people. (I think the cause is poor circulation to my hands, but not confirmed, lol.)

I've temp gunned myself anywhere between 80 and 87 unless I've been exercising, so any of my BPs in a warm hide feel warm, ever so slightly warm, or neither warm nor cool depending on my temp for the day. Out of the cold hide they are usually cooler than me.

So, if you think your snake feels warm, def temp gun the snake and your hands to make sure everything is in a good temp range, you may be like me and have to account for cool hands.

Like others have said, it depends on the temperature of your hands. Mine usually feels cool, but he can also feel slightly warm especially if he just came out of his warm hide. It's definitely normal for them to feel cool, as long as they aren't icy cold.
