4ft Vivarium and Ceramic bulb holder etc

    Hi everyone,

I bought a new 4ft vivarium for my young bci boa. I ordered every thing I needed - the ceramic bulb holder & bulbs, heat guard etc.
Well, upon receiving the items I realise that I've made a mistake - the heat guard is too short for the Komodo ceramic bulb & holder. I made arrangements to return the heat guard, but it also occurs to me that I'm not happy with how large this Komodo ceramic bulb holder actually is. It was only until I held it to where the top of the viv would be that I thought 'Hang on, this thing will be quite long reaching down'

Does anybody have this Komodo bulb holder? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Komodo-Ce...ZXLt:rk:2:pf:0
Is it suitable for a 4ft vivarium? I worked out that if it was all put in with the appropriately sized heat guard, it's going to hang from the top by 8.5-9 inches - is this too much?
I'm thinking of my boa and his comfort at the end of the day, that's what's important.
Just wondering if anybody has the product for their boa/large snake, and would you recommend different? I'm considering sending it back, the bracket on it is massive. I don't know if I'm concerned over nothing.
I measured and my ball pythons holder, bulb and heat guard measure just 6 inches coming down from the top.

Thank you for the suggestion, Richard. I am in the UK myself. I've had a look, and I recognise the products from some reptile channels on Youtube.

Do you know, I had a look on Ebay just now and had a shock. I was just about to tell you that unfortunately I wouldn't be able to afford it because they are too expensive - There is a listing on there that is selling the fixture, bulb & guard for £71.97!! It must be a mistake, because then I checked another listing of the same products and it is £21.99. Must be a mistake on the first listing.
I'm interested to hear anyone's thoughts and advice, and then I'll sleep on it tonight.. but these White Python products do look good, and it's a good package deal.
