Thinking about racks....
So I've decided to upgrade equipment before adding another snake.
I've always liked display enclosures, but I'm thinking it's just more practical to build a rack. I can always build another or add levels over time if need be.
My thought process is this: I'm really the only one who goes into my snake room. So the visual aspect of display enclosures is really just for me. But I would be keeping my King and hognose in their enclosures, the rack would be for my BP and Borneo STP (they're hidden basically 24/7 anyway) as well as new additions.
I'm also wanting to consolidate enclosures to one section of the room and improve the efficiency of my heating. I'm doing away with lamps, bulbs and CHEs and switching to RHPs. Between lamps, UTHs and a space heater my electric bill is stupid high this time of year.
What I'm wondering, is would a rack with RHP save a decent amount of money? Should I ditch the UTHs and get hear tape? Is that more efficient?
How different would it be if I upgraded to AP enclosures and ran RHPs and UTHs (or heat tape if it's more efficient)?
Would running a rack be much more efficient than a stack of PVC enclosures?
Thanks in advance all...

I too am thinking about a rack system. I really enjoy my tank and display but I would like a few more snakes. So a rack system seems much more manageable then multiple enclosure and quite honestly cheaper than five or six ap cages. If you don't mind me piggy backing a bit, is flexwatt enough to maintain a ambient temperature or do you have to heat the entire room?
