    Scaleless Corn Snake

Hi, I am really interested in getting maybe three scaleless corn snakes to add to my collection (strictly pets). What are everyone thoughts on the "scaleless" snakes in general.

Do they have different care requirements. Are they as hardy as snakes with scales. Scaleless is new to me and am just starting to do some research and wanted to see what you all thought.

    Thanks

maybe DAKSKI will chime in here. I'm just very curious about them. They are a fairly new type of snake correct?

    Re: Scaleless Corn Snake

Sorry, I was not well yesterday and wasn't able to respond.

First, I would look at Solana's thread, especially the beginning, which has a lot of info on Scaleless Corns.

    https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...ow-Motley-Corn

Secondly, I love them and I love her. They are seemingly unaffected by not having scales (in captivity) and both look and feel amazing.

Always feed F/T, which is easy with a corn. Other than that, not too much different than a normal/scaled corn snake. Same temps, humidity, cage size, etc.

Don Soderberg at South Mountain Reptiles is where I got Solana, and he is a great resource regardless of where you get yours. However, I do recommend him.

Any questions either post here or PM.

    Re: Scaleless Corn Snake

I checked out your thread - very interesting. Loved seeing all the pictures of your scaleless corn.

I'm still deciding on adding more snakes but it I do I will definitely contact Don and go with a scaleless corn.

Just means I have to get yet another rack, thermostat and all that adds up for sure. If I do it - I will probably end up with three since I plan to get a CB70 three drawer rack.

    Re: Scaleless Corn Snake

Well, I couldn't control myself - I ordered a scaleless corn from Don Soderberg (SMR). I will post a picture as soon as he gets one over to me. I am so excited. He is going to board her until probably spring since Michigan is too cold this time of year to ship.

I had to order a new rack and thermostat. I went with a RBI CB70 rack with a VE300 thermostat. By getting this rack - it leaves me with 2 empty drawers. Yay me!!!
