    Solomon Isle Boa

I saw this snake at a local pet shop and fell in love with it. It is a gold color with a zig zag black stripe down its back. Very cool. A really docile snake too. Anybody know any particulars on them. I tried to google them and found bible relics and what not. Only thing I did find was a link from Kingsnake.com, but that didn't tell much. The pet store guy didn't know too much on them either. It was a hundred dollars, is that too much or a good deal?

I want it pretty badly, but I don't jump into anything anymore. Nice and easy said the head bull to the little bull.

hey i actually know what you're talking about.... there are two kinds, the SI tree boa and the SI ground boa. their markings are almost rattle snake-esue? $100 is a little steep, but that's a pet store for ya.

What are the distinct differences between the two? This one was not in a tree, but was crawled up underneath the top ridge in the vision tank it was in.

I found a lot on them once I put in ground or tree...thanks.

Genus Candoia.. I LOVE those snakes. Viper boas (candoia asper) are also related to them.

Be aware that babies almost always will not take rodents at first, they eat frogs/lizards!

    Check this site out. http://www.kingsnake.com/candoia/

    Re: Solomon Isle Boa

There's usually a few ads on kingsnake.. try fauna as well.

Look for 'candoia' in the ads too, not just solomon island boa.
