    Carpet Python Feeding

    Happy New Year!

Just wondering how often and the gram weight you feed your adult full grown Jungle/Coastal Carpet Python?
Currently feeding mine 200-250gram Quail from the farm every 2-3 weeks, just wondering if I'm in the ballpark with those that feed rats.

    Thank you

    Carpet Python Feeding

My 2 full grown JCPs at 7 feet eat a large rat, 180-279g every 3.5-4 weeks.

I’m considering changing the female to an XL/Jumbo, 280-400g, because she stays in food mode from minutes after eating until the next feed.

My 3 full grown CCPs at 8 feet eat an XL/Jumbo, 280-400g every 3.5-4 weeks. And one of those females goes into food mode a week or two after eating. I just can’t see increasing food for her. But I may see if going to 2.5-3 week will work without adding weight to her.

The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Awesome picture! I wish my snake ate like that, she simply prefers you leave the food on a paper towel and she'll calmly eat it. No sudden strikes lol.

But yes I am in a similar situation, that's why I asked. Cause once I feed her, I feel like she's ready to take another one, exploring the tank looking around. A week later after she's done her business she looks like she wants to eat again. But I feel like that would be overfeeding, which I believe a lot of snake owners do, compared to the quantity these snakes eat in the wild.

But good too know I'm close to what your feeding your guys & gals.
    Weight is my primary concern.

    Re: Carpet Python Feeding

I feed my adult carpets a medium (90-150g) or large (180-280g) rat every 2-3 weeks in the warmer months and every 4+ weeks during the winter months.
