I just had to share this thing that happened at work

I'm a nurse and I see all sorts of people. Yesterday I was helping to teach a woman how to care for her mother at home. I went over all the instructions and then answered her questions and ended with: "So do you feel ready to care for your mother at home?" And she said, "Yeah, I once nursed a turkey back to health after a dog got a hold of it. It can't be much different than that!"

Not everyone compares their mom to a turkey, that's for sure...

    Or...

she may be very caring indeed

My family knows that I take everything home that needs saving, caring, doctoring. If it had been me saying such a thing, my family would think its funny and actually more of a compliment. In a strange way.

IF you will house and doctor a Turkey in your home, you must be a caring person, imho

I wasnt going to say anything but that’s what I’d say. If I’d take care of a random turkey then I’m 110% going to take care of my mom

I just had to share this thing that happened at work

I've had soooo many funny times in my 25 years working with Autistic and Aspergers teenagers but the funniest has to be when I was with this 14 years autistic boy in a Biology class ... they'd all observed their teacher dissecting a whole beef heart ... a very bloody / messy affair . The idea was to watch how to do it in that lesson with a view to doing it themselves the following day .

Anyways it had all gone sooooo well until we were packing up at the end and leaving the room .. the teacher suddenly shouted .... " don't forget to being your OWN hearts tomorrow " !!!

I better not say what the lad screamed as he ran down the corridor!!
