Well in keeping with the season and spreading positive news stories about pet snakes, if you have a Facebook please share the story there.

Yeah I I’m looking for info to see if I can help the home owner out. Even if I just have a safe place while they go though such a terrible time

I would too, if something awful like that happened near me to a fellow herp-keeper. We never know when it might have been us instead of them...
And it might also be fun to send some holiday cookies to that fire department, to thank them for rescuing so many snakes & lizards.

Another thing, I just saw a slightly different account that mentioned the snakes had been kept in glass cages built into the wall, so that's why the firefighters
were carrying them out by hand, & now they apparently have no CAGES either. It sounds unlikely that the cages were removable? So I'd guess they could
really use some spare reptile cages & fast!

If you look at the pictures at the bottom of that article, the snakes are in clear plastic totes while being loaded into vehicles.
I suspect that the owner ran to Home Depot or Lowes, threw down a credit card, and picked up enough tubs and plastic shelving to throw together some temporary racks.

Pretty cool I'd say. The owner should definitely get some holiday goodies over to those fire fighters!
