BP Pooping....When?

So, about how long after a hardy meal should my PB be pooping? Just don't want any constipation issues sneaking up on me. He's comfortably resting in his hide and has been there for 2 days now. Yes, he's breathing.

When it needs to!

There is no schedule, they are very efficient, it depends on the animal itself, pretty size, feeding frequency etc can be anywhere from once a week to 4 to 8 weeks.

Constipation is rare and something that you will notice if it happens as there will be a persistent bulge near the cloaca.

also, hatchlings tend to hold on to their waste a lot longer than older beeps. i think i've read it's a survival thing: pooping means giving off your scent and being prone to predators finding you, so they tend to hold it in for a while.

Unfortunately BP's do not have access to Taco Bell so it can be a while.....

Lmao! Life would be so much easier if they did have Taco Bell. A system flush would occur like clock-work. I know I had to install a seat belt on my toilet for that very reason.

Young snakes are eating smaller, younger prey that is mostly digestible. As snakes grow & eat larger prey, that prey has larger bones, more fur/feathers, and possibly
some indigestible stuff in their own gut (like seeds, etc) that ends up making more "roughage" & thus more stool.

So a baby snake eating pinkie mice may take a while to make very much stool...see? You tend to see more urates than stool at first. You'd be surprised at how
often we are asked here if someone's young snake is constipated.

LOL! Kinda what I was expecting. When we were at the expo. a couple weeks ago, one of them pooped on my daughter. She was gagging. lol

Mine is 6 months old and eating lg. adult mice now, so his poop should start packing a bit more "punch", shall we say?
