    The ambient temperature is the air temperature when not being heated directly. So with your UTH check the air temperature just a few inches above the substrate.

    So by accident I believe I got my hot side regulate. I was taking out the paper towels in my tub because I accidentally spilled all his water on the floor. Well I put the tub on the carpet and notice that my temp was going up. This had me so excited because I was worried. I got his hot spot at 91° now.

    Yea.. but I'm afraid of keeping it on my carpet. So I might opt out on putting a towel on my bookshelf and see if I get the same results

    Well crap. That's what I got haha. I'll have to watch it close. It's been working great so far its also only been a couple months.
