    Help with ID of Boa.

    This is Cola.

I'm a ball/blood/reticulated python guy, so I could really use some help identifying this boa.

I bought him from a friend of a friend who couldn't care for him anymore. You know the story. They knew next to nothing about him, other than he is male and about 6 years old. I don't think they ever took him out of his container.

My goal was to bring him back to good health and temperament. He's doing well as far as health goes, but he's VERY aggressive in his container. He does well once you take him out, though.

I'd eventually like to re-home him with someone who knows boas. Any help would be appreciated.

I would never "label" him as anything other than "unknown" or "unknown - best guess _________" without knowing who the breeder/parents are.

Thanks in advance for your help.

With out any lineage details or paperwork he can only be classed as a common boa or boa imperata.
He is stunning, love his iridescence, very much like a Sonoran boa or a dark Nicaraguan with all the speckling, how big is he

I agree with Richard, nice common boa, probably of CA (central american) locality, or a mix (I'm not seeing BCO/Argentine)

Gorgeous boa right there, he is so black, almost looks like Richards img. Agreed gotta call him bci but that's such a wide range it's nothing to be ashamed off, boa is a boa...
His eye has a light top half so there's a possibility he could be het albino.

Re: Help with ID of Boa.

    Handsome guy.

Not exactly fun trying to tame a 2,600G male boa. I hear you.

If he's better out of the tank, and only aggressive in it, you might want to hook train him. Not sure if you are familiar with hook training, but if not, I can send a link to a thread I made on it.

I also understand you are not looking to keep him, so it might not be worth your while.
