Me got tagged (bite pix warning)

Ok so last night I sprayed down Bellatrix's (my dumerils boa) cage because she is in shed and I wanted to up the humidity.

This afternoon I opened the cage to check on her, and it was kind of stinky so I decided to clean the cage and put dry newspaper in there. I moved her around a bit to get the newspaper she was laying on and the shedding skin was coming off in my hands. I set her down and there was a big old flap of shed skin just hanging off of her.. so like the OCD idiot that I am, I pulled on it and peeled some of it off. Well, she didn't appreciate that and she tagged me.

    Here are the results.

Snake people are definitely a rare breed. Instead of running for the neosporin when we get bit, we run for the camera. (and yes I can so see myself doing the same thing) LMAO!!

Sorry to hear about the tag. Can you rate the pain? (great I'm flashing back to The Princess Bride)

Yeah.. lol I was thinking about that as I ran downstairs for the camera.. not before dripping blood in that freshly cleaned cage! *sigh*

Honestly it doesn't hurt. Right now I can't feel it at all. If I touch it, it's not as bad as some paper cuts I've had! It barely stung as she bit. I said to her 'oh, well fine' and continued to look longingly at the flaps of shed skin hanging off of her. I'm incorrigible.

LOL!!! I can just see you carefully considering the exchange of another bite for one more chance at that flap of shed. That's too funny. Too bad you dripped in the nicely cleaned cage tho. At least it wasn't on the carpet! Blood stains are killer.

Well I don't have carpet in the herp room. I got blood on my favorite pair of pants though! They already had boa blood stained on them from a couple of weeks ago when my hoggie cut her nose. I should have learned by now.

Oh that's even worse. If they're a light colored, you can always try peroxide, although it does tend to bleach the color out a bit. (if that's any help *shrug*)

No no.. not the first. My first bite was from an 8' burmese python! That one held on too.. didn't want to give up his prize.

My hoggie bit me once.. my albino cali king delights in tagging me.. I was bit by my male blood python (well lots of times, but only once without my gloves on)

Sorry about the tag Shelby, but thanks for the pics. As far as getting the stains out, use cold water and shout and a toothbrush. Works everytime for me, even on carpet. Make sure it's cold water though, warm water will set the pigments in blood into what ever surface it's on, per my dear old mum.
