Fragile scales?

I can see why you love this snake so much! Tons of personality and he even wags his tail, lol... Is this one of the species that use their tail as a "lure"?
That's how it appears anyway. The mouth-opening reminds me a a baby bird, not a snake? hahaha! Adorable times ten!

Haha, yes they do sometimes utilize their tails for caudal luring, though I have never again seen him do this. I think he was just very excited and expected me to toss him a mouse! It is EXACTLY like a baby bird! I hope he hasn't completely grown out of it, because I think it's adorable still. He has alot of strange, quirky habits and that is why I love him! The associates at the pet store all asked, "Are you sure you want that one? He's pretty nasty." And I'm glad I ignored everything they had to say, because he's the greatest animal I've ever met!

That's what I love about snakes of all kinds...it really pays to keep an open mind. Calling a snake "nasty" for defending itself is so misinformed, and it's
especially sad when it comes from those who should know better. If we let them, snakes can teach patience & empathy pretty well.
