    Foiled Escape

I just got very lucky a couple minutes ago. I went to look at the temp and couldn't find ny snake. I opened the lid on my sterilite and saw that my girl had pushed up the lid and was in mid escape. I now have the 5 and 10 pound weights that I had originally planned on putting on, on the cage now. Im getting some heavy duty black office clips tommorow too now. Whew

Glad you didn't lose your snake.. it's a horrible feeling when you don't see your snake in it's cage.

    Re: Foiled Escape

if your using a steralite type of tub with the thin tops...ya they don't lock well. I only use those tops for my rodents and not without clips. The heavy duty office clips you mentioned work great...if its what I'm using: those black trianglular vice type paper clasps...I "borrowed" a few from work as I had a rat who learned a way to escape her tub and using 1 of these heavy duty paper clasps near each corner worked PERFECTLY and I am going to use them on all my rodent tubs from now on.

Truly it is - there is that sickeningly sudden lack of gravity in your gut like Wile E Coyote realizing he is pedaling his feet over thin air after having run of the cliff - then your stomach just drops!

I'm intrigued by these clips you talk about.. I use duct tape which is a pain in the butt. Where do I find the really heavy duty ones? (what section I mean)

    Re: Foiled Escape

yep those are exactly what I'm using. I have two on each long side near the corners and they clamp down on the lid and under the lip of the tub perfectly and have a strong clamp.
