    Question Hides? Humidity?

I just got my new bp about 2 weeks ago. He is about 1 year to 2 years old. I haven't handled him yet, and he has ate once for us. my father and i keep fish so we used one of the bigger hides that we use for our oscars, and put it on the warm side of the tank (55 g). My dad apparently was unaware that he needs two hides. im planning on bringing him another one soon but will he be okay without the second hide? My Dad is at work for most of the day so i dont see why he cant just sit on the other side of the tank to cool down if need be while my dad isnt there. My dad and I share a room where we sleep, eat, and everything, as well as keep our fish. Will the bp be disturbed by the splashing of the water? And because we have so many fish tanks and we live in a very humid state, will we need to regulate the humidity or will it be fine for the most part?tysm, Dakota

    Re: Hides? Humidity?

You need something to show the humidity in the tank, such as the Accurite thermometer/Hydrometer. Ball Python's are VERY secretive snakes and need a minimum of two hides and lots of cover to feel secure. Even if your father is not around the snake will most likley not go to the other side to cool down because to Bp's safety is often more important than proper heating. What are your heat sorces? Any UTH's NEED to be regulated by a thermostat.
