Greetings!
New to the site, but not to reptiles. Been a few years since I’ve kept any. Re-homed what I had after a divorce and relocation for a new job. Just got a baby BEL a few weeks back, and am quite smitten with her.
Lurked on the site for a bit, and learned much about the advances in husbandry, especially in temp and humidity control. Also picked up some great tips here, such as the “hair dryer” trick, which makes my little BP strike at her F/T like an angry Retic! Thanks to all posters for the great content!

It certainly is. I thaw her F/T mice downstairs, then give them a quick hairdryer blast upstairs at the foot of her cage prior to offering. In about 5 seconds she never fails to smell them and comes flying out of her hide coiled up and ready!

It’s simply heating the F/T prey item with a hair dryer prior to offering. I find my girl likes them about 105f at the head, measured with a heat gun. Any less she hesitates. 105 or slightly above is a strike every time.

Great advice. I will add a hair dryer to my list of must haves prior to purchase. Thanks!
