    Animal Plastics?

So I'm trying to decide whether to get an AP T1 which is 24×24×12 or an Exo Terra 24×18×12, and this would be for a male Kenyan Sand Boa. I like the looks of the T1 more but I'm wondering how well a UTH, one by zoo med or exo terra would heat up the hotspot since that PVC is 1/2 inch thick, and if I'd need a CHE to help with ambient temps. The room he'll be in stays around 70-74°F. Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated!

So its actually more likely for you to need a CHE for the glass exo terra than the AP cage I have both and glass tanks work well if you are using an above heat source (light bulb, CHE, etc) but if using a UTH I find the APs hold the heat better. You do have to turn the thermostat up by about 7 degrees to what you want the hotspot at, but the cage holds it much better.

I assumed I'd need a CHE with the exo Terra besides the UTH, if I did the Animal Plastics would it be a good idea to pay extra for the 8.5 in screen in case I needed the extra heat? They also do a 20×12 in screen too. Do you think the UTH would stick to the plastic as well as a glass tank?

You want to use Foil Tape to stick the Heat Mats to the PVC enclosures. If using Heat Tape mine came with stickiness around it already. As far as the Screen... you will need a ambient temp so you still need a heat source like CHE or RHP. A heat mat only provides a Hot Spot. My home is 68 during winter and 68 during summer from central air. I use a RHP to keep a proper ambient and cool side temp. I also have the RHP on my Hot side which is 91 and that keeps my cool side 78-80.
