Re: Always wanted an Albino
One more for good measure.
Its gotta be stress, the guy handed the box to me upside down and I received a call from fed ex and he was here really quickly after about an hour or a little more.
He is smoking hot looking though, beauty and attitude.

Re: Always wanted an Albino
Poor guy is stressed out.
What did the breeder say his temperament was like?
How old again?
Leave him be for a bit, get him to eat (maybe 5-7 days from now), and then start gentle handling.
If if I didn’t say it before, I recommend hook training anything feisty, food driven, or that will be large. In my case, both Behira (BCI), and Yafe (Carpet Python), are hook trained and being hook trained, respectively.
Good idea with Boas because of size and massive food drive.
Here’s a link to a thread I started on hook training (sorry if I already shared): https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...highlight=Hook
Good luck and keep us posted!

He’s getting left alone to settle down, he’s really young and if I in understood has eaten live and frozen so twice at least. I weighed him at 109 grams. I never asked his actual birthday or about temperament but my Banana pinstrip BP ( male also) was pretty close to this attitude wise on arrival after flying cross country also. Now he is a really mellow fellow. My ladies were so much calmer but only the one had an airplan ride.
Dakski I have read and am doing the hook training with Harley Quinn my Hypo and despite the puppy dog demeanor it’s going to pay off later on once some sabstantial size is reached. I will definitely go that route here, don’t have a name yet so for now I’ll just temporarily call him Alby. i am hook training the BP’s and maybe not necessary but it’s consistant for me and them. I have read that thread and it’s very useful and always worth a second mention.
For now I’m just going to make sure temps are good and leave him alone. Despite how much I want to stare at him. Quarantined and warm again so hope the tide changes.

Maybe Prometheus for a name. the Titan that stole fire from Zeus and gave it to man.
Maybe not actual fire but he did lite up and gave me a show. Snakes can jump at least this guy did. His entire body was airborne when he struck at me. Funny in a way but being stressed out not so funny.
See if I can dream up another name but I just might have it.

Re: Always wanted an Albino
I’ve had a few young boas with that attitude to start with, even some I produced were fiesty at first. All of them settled down with gentle handling. My first boa was like this when he was hungry...loud blowing every time you came near the cage when it got close to feeding day. In fact, it earned him the name Sir Hiss (from Disney’s Robin Hood).
