Foodsaver for rats only?
So I have kept my frozen rats in my same freezer as I keep my food in and Ive done so for years and years without issue. I bag them in ziplocks with plastic shopping over them of course.
I know a lot of people vacuum pack their rodents but I never had the need to do so until now when I got in a big shipment......which leads to the question:
Do you use a Foodsaver (vacuum packing machine) for your rodents and if so do you use it EXCLUSIVELY for your rodents or do you also use it for food as well?.....Im not sure if that's a possible contamination issue or not

In my personal opinion, I would not use a foodsaver for both. Reason being is the Foodsaver sucks the juices out of the bag during the suction process which in turn requires cleanup. No way I would want those juices mixed with my food ;(

I use foodsaver brand and use it for both my rodents and my own food. doing it for years, no issues. The rats were frozen and I repackage them. There are no fluids... the sealer only touches the bags. /shrug

I use a foodsaver for Ribeye,ground beef,veggies,fruit,ammo,rats,mice.
For years perfect health. The rats & mice are in the kitchen freezer.
You can put paper towels in the bag at the top and it blocks the rat blood from going in the drip tray. They usually don't have a lot of moisture or liquid.
You can also freeze them first, than do vacuum after there frozen.
