Just an update. They fined the guy for animal cruelty and added a 30 day jail time to his punishment for starving and neglecting her. She is now almost back up to proper body mass and weight. Her burns are almost healed. She will be moved to bi-weekly feedings now and is eating 1 large rat per meal. Nice square shape as a proper boa should be. No aggression at all. Active when out and wants to explore everything around her. Her name is Ruby now. Love the pink blushing on her face.

Good on the judge to do the right thing. She looks like a real sweetheart!

That is incredible! Most jurisdictions barely recognize reptiles as pets, never mind covering them under cruelty and neglect laws.

It means that she has been here long enough without a name that my adopted daughter was getting upset with me. Now Ruby is technically hers.

The large rat is slightly smaller than her head. I started her on smalls and then went to mediums but Vet said she is ready for large. Do you think should be once a month at this point for a large?

She is doing well eating 1 large rat every 2 weeks but is slamming them when offered. Will slowly push her out to 3 weeks after a couple more feedings.

Great to see that whether or not the judge liked or hated reptiles, he recognized the wrongdoing of the previous owner and punished him for it. I'm not sure every judge would do that

Doing well. Almost up to proper weight. Eating small meals weekly. I tried to feed something larger and she refused to eat it. Poor girl is scared of a large rat.
