Wild black rat snake.
I found him in a well cover at a plumbing customers house. Since I have tons of experience handling snakes, I just grabbed him and tossed him out of the way, so I could work on the well.
After he slithered away to a rock, I snapped a couple of pics. This one is a subadult. They get up to 8 feet long here in North Carolina!

He is pretty. I used to see them at the farm house I lived in on the eastern shore of Maryland.

I've never seen a rat snake in person before. That is a real beauty right there Thanks for sharing!

nice! I Caught a Beautiful 4.5ft Male a few weeks ago over Labor Day Weekend. He was on the curve of a busy street, and i moved him about 20meters away from the street and into the woods near my house. I LOVE those Guys!!
