Building more racks with top end hardwood

So I have 5 more ball pythons coming Tuesday in addition to the 2 I received last week. Time to build some housing!

As always I build using cabinet grade oak hardwood plywood. (Never use regular plywood, or any pine/cedar plywood as it can have toxins left over, not to mention it is weaker. I don’t recommend melamine either, because it won’t hold up to longterm.)

I use heat tape in the back of the racks, running on a herpstat.

The new tub additions are from a commercial reptile store RBI, as the regular store-bought storage tubs I find to be less sturdy, and are not designed to slide back and forth on a rack, have a water bowl in them, or have a snake try to squeeze out of the rack tubs!

Nice setup. I wish I had the tools and the space to build things like that. Maybe in my next place. I'll probably use RBI tubs too. I'm a fan of the design. How are they holding up for you?
