    Re: Esmeralda - Bayonnaise Leachie

Apparently, Katie and I are not updating Ezzy's thread enough (Zina10).

Katie's been under the weather and I've been dealing with Yafe and trying to keep everything calm in the kingdom.

However, Ezzy needed a tank cleaning today, and Katie is working despite not feeling well, so I grabbed some photos with Ezzy.

I also weighed her and she's 210G, up from 200G about a month ago. Sometimes she annihilates the food, other times she picks at it. Good to know she's certainly not losing and seems happy and healthy.

Here's a quick video link to Ezzy going back in her enclosure. No leap into it this time, but she's still so adorable. Video Link: https://streamable.com/yi5ie

    How I found Ezzy today:

Ezzy is a scene-stealer, for sure, & such a nice size for handling...

Hope you feel better soon, Katie...I guess it's that time of year when "everyone is sharing"...

Feeding night for Ezzy. Katie had her out for a bit and then I got to hold her for a while so Katie could make her food.

She's pretty chill most of the time now.

However, she's quite the Leaping Leachie! See the video link below for her jump/plop back onto her branches in her tank.

Here's Ezzy chilling with Dad! It was a little darker in the room tonight as we kept the big lamp off. You can see her pupils just start to open up.

Ezzy was out tonight so Katie could do a full cage cleaning with a long F10SC soak and all.

We got a cute video of her with a perfect ending; a huge leap off my hand and onto her fresh log on the chair next to her tank. Had to be a 2 1/2 foot jump in all! Crazy girl!

She is gorgeous! IMO the springiness is what makes New Caledonian geckos so much fun.

It's not the first time, and it won't be the last time, she takes a flying leap! We've got her number now. It's pretty easy to tell when she wants to LEAP!

Thank you! We both love her. Katie thinks she's the prettiest gecko around. I can't argue that, but I think her personality rocks and I love the way she literally argues with us (using those vocal cords) when we ask her to do something she doesn't want to do.

Guess what? Ezzy shed the other day!

We had her out tonight to do a full cage cleaning and got some great pictures! She's holding steady at 210G eating Pangea every 3 days.

She looks beautiful as always, just like her mom.

    Re: Esmeralda - Bayonnaise Leachie

Ezzy has moved to the Reptile Area, along with Ferry, and all other cold blooded creatures in the house.

    https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...Complete/page3

She (and Ferry) have matching 2' (Wide) X 1.5' (Deep) X 2' (High) Boaphile tanks coming (that will open to the side so we can put their water and food bowls on the doors. They will be stacked on top of each other.

The tanks will have RHP's to keep temps about 77F in the summer and ensure they stay about 70-71F in the winter. They will likely barely run, but better safe than sorry.

Ezzy seems to be taking to the new room nicely. She happily ate her food powder/gel last night and has been peaking out a bit.

    Re: Esmeralda - Bayonnaise Leachie

Ezzy (and Ferry) had their tanks cleaned yesterday and fresh logs/wood put in.

I tried to take a video of me picking Ezzy up, as she's usually cage defensive, but she was a total doll. It's honestly 50/50 with her. I always wear gloves because you just don't know and when she's, "Protecting This House," she will happily try to remove a finger! However, once out of the cage, she is a total sweetheart. Very, very, common for Leachies to be cage defensive. 70/30 (for) being calm when out. We got lucky with her because she is a total puppy dog when out of her enclosure.

She weighed in at 205G, which is what she's been for a few months now.
