    Re: Esmeralda - Bayonnaise Leachie

Ezzy got new digs today! More information here: https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...Complete/page4

I'll post some more pictures soon, but she went straight in a log! She seems happy though.

Below is her and Ferry's tower!

    Re: Esmeralda - Bayonnaise Leachie

Ezzy is such a diva. Very cage defensive, and also very vocal (if you don't know, geckos have vocal cords - leachies, like Ezzy - tend to use them a lot).

I reach in to take her out to clean her tank (with gloves of course) and she tries to take my fingers off. She has yet to clamp down, but will lunge at my hand and hiss and try to bite it. It's more like lunge/snake like strike then a reach out and grab.

To deal with this, I either just grab her, cover her head with one gloved hand or just a glove, and then she calms right down and I can pick her up. Once she's out of her "home" she's a total sweetie.

"I must protect this house!" Leachies, even sweet ones when out, tend to be cage territorial. Ferry, a chewie, exhibits none of this and is a social butterfly even in his tank.

Anyway, I get her to stop biting and start picking her up and she starts chirping (a geckos scream) and clicking at me. "HELP!" That lasted 2 seconds and then she was like, "oh, hey dad." and calmed right down.

    WHAT A DIVA!

Anyway, here's a video of her being calm and sweet and going back into her nice, freshly cleaned, tank.

Usually, Ezzy is doing her Spiderman impression. The other day, she was going for Superman. Not exactly sure what she was really holding on to, but it worked.

Ezzy laid an egg! I found it yesterday morning. She must have laid it the night before!
