    Rat Bedding

Where do you guys get your bedding from\what do you use? I am currently using a Great Choice Aspen Bedding. It's $13 for a 4 cu. ft bag at my local pet smart. I am about to quadruple my rat colonies size and I would really like to cut down on the cost of bedding if possible. I am really liking the aspen bedding I would just like to find a cheaper option. I can't even find it in bulk for cheaper. Some places want $30 for 4 cu. ft.. Any and all bedding suggestions\prices\websites welcome below.

If you have a Petco you can by online pick up in store for a fraction of the price.

Also. Not sure if this may work for you:

    Good luck!

I use newspaper for the rats.
    Its free.
    They stay busy shredding it.
I HATE the smell of a dirty rat cage, and ours are now indoors for the winter (I have several hairless), so I change out the paper daily.
Even while they were on the front porch, I cleaned the cages almost every day.

I only use Orchid bark / Reptibark as it looks natural and pleasing on the eye , the dark colour makes your snakes look great and it holds as much or as little humidity as you need .

Aspen is horrible... it's basically the opposite of all the above plus it gets all over the house and carpets .
