Suuush Mcgluuush the ever purpling Dumerils Boa

I haven’t really updated much here on my crew since I got them... I plan to very soon as they are all putting on a lot of size and weight and looking and acting just awesome.

My male Dumerils Boa Just shed yesterday ad has just Been looking amazing. As usual and as we all say. Pictures never do a snakes color justice but truer words have never been spoken for this guy. The pinks that blend w the browns are starting to make this amazing purple and he has a light purple tongue!

Man, now I want a Dum, hahahahha!! Honestly, I'm going to try to educate the girl on Dumerils. A male will stay small enough for her comfort zone, I just have to sell her on the head. She still squeamish about boa heads for some reason.

I will be completely honest I was actually feeling the same way when I first got into snakes. There is something very intimidating and scary looking about that boa constrictor head. However, once you see it in person and get to know the snake it really goes away rather quickly and my opinion has completely flipped on it as to where I am drawn to it and I love the shape and size of the head. Although different then a python It’s still pales in comparison to something like a carpet. I feel like pictures make their heads look scarier than they are. Maybe try and find one locally or go to a shop that has one where she can see it in person and I bet the opinion changes. Good luck! They sure are amazing animals and I hope you can get one

Thank you to all who commented I really appreciate the kind words! I’m excited because this boy still has a lot of growing to do and he seems to get better with every shed the colors just become rich and deep so it seems like the potential on him is quite endless. He has also really come into his own with me and displays some great personality and no longer has the flinching that he displayed Early on due to him not really ever being handled by the breeder
