    HERPS New Orleans 9\29

Is anyone going to be attending this show? I am going to have a (very) small table setup with a few snakes I want to let go and some feeders. Does anyone who has vended a show before have any tips? I know the necessities I need: The animals, Boxes and bags to send them home in, food\water while they are there, I have my business cards ready. I am working on what I want to put all the snakes in for the show, how to transport them etc. I'm bringing cash for change and also ordering one of the phone plug-in credit card swipers. Anything else I should bring or any helpful tips? Will be my first time ever vending.

Sounds like you’re pretty much set. For cash, I’d recommend taking no less than $100 for change, mostly a mix of $1, $5, and $10. It’s been a few years since I was a vendor, but it always seemed like I needed a lot of small bills to start. Still a fair amount of folks doing cash purchase, but the card swiper will give you a lot more flexibility for those who don’t carry cash, especially for larger purchases.

That's the only reason I got it. I'm selling an Albino Boa, maybe my mangrove snake, a few ball pythons and a tree boa. I figure most of those will go on cards. I will be selling rats live, frozen, and frozen rabbits. I assumed most of those with go with Cash. I planned to bring $100 in 5's and 1's and if I run out, just have my wife run to bank with the large bills and grab more lol.
