    Re: Large enclosure build.

Tried some more things out tonight. Shaped some of the foam before painting. Long way to go but here is what it looks like now.

Really close to the look inward. LED light in. Missing heat panels and then time to work on the bottom level.

I like the look so far.

The variations in lighting are a nice touch and they make her colors pop.

Are you going right over the foam with epoxy? What brand are you using? Do they find good and sturdy? I need to get my females cage finished up and was just thinking today I'd love to dress it up a little. I've done a few backgrounds in the past with foam then mortar paint and sealer but don't want to add that much weight so I'm very intrigued by your method for this.

I will have e to get the brand for you tomorrow. I picked it up from home depot. Have disposed of it already. Couple of weeks painting. Drying. Painting again. Then 3 layers of clear epoxy over entire cage. Heat panels installed on top layer. LED bar made by me and placed yesterday. Blocked off bottom layer and now is play time and food for Rainbow in new home. She is spending the night in there so food mode is not an issue. Now time to train on food side VS hand side again. Her new home even came stocked with a jumbo rat and 2 quail. Yummmmmmmmm......

Please let me know what you think. One concern is, she was in feeding mode. She attacked a piece of the foam. Was worried she would break it off and eat it. Thank full she didn't break it off.

    Re: Large enclosure build.

She loves her cave. I knew that raising the sides of the cave with a place she could sit in and feel snuggled was going to make her happy. She only takes up half of it right now. Just the cave part is 3 ft X 3 Dr X 1.5 ft. I reached in and pet her a moment and she is still digesting. This weekend going to take her back out for a couple of days to do some more modifications. Open to suggestions and questions. Please let me know your thoughts.

    Re: Large enclosure build.

I put a 20 gallon swimming tub in the bottom. Thinking about putting a UTH under the tub to heat the water some. The water is always 10 to 20 degrees cooler than the air around it. Would be heated by the sun in nature. Thoughts?
