    Animal Plastics LED Option

I'm curious how Animal Plastic owners control the LED lights inside their enclosures. For instance, my lights consist of two cords separated by a female and male plug. One end is plugged into the electrical outlet and the other is connected to the actual LED light strip. In order to turn them on, I have to connect the male/female sections which is sort of a hassle.

I've heard some talk about control boxes and/or remotes so I'm curious what options are out there. I'm also 'considering' a timer because my lights are NEVER on (and yes, I realize lights only benefit the owner). Also it would be nice to incorporate multiple enclosures on one light switch/remote.

I just placed an order for a stack of T10s with LED's. You should be able to find either a dimmer or remote type setup on Amazon, but what I think I'm gonna do is plug them them all into a power strip hung on the wall next to them, and use the switch on the strip as an on/off switch. Doesn't give me individual control, but believe it will suit my needs

A stack of T10s? That's going to look really nice! I'll search a little on Amazon to see what I can find. I remember seeing someone have a remote on here and wasn't sure if it had come w/ the AP LED order.

Thanks, it's going to be a dream come true. I've been waiting to order them for a long time and I finally did it.

I have remotes for the LEDs in 2 of my cages, my boaphile and my vision cage, but those lights I installed myself and bought them on Amazon. I don't actually know what the AP lights really look like until I get them, but I'm assuming if I plug them all into a power strip I can control it with the switch that is already on the power strip and there really is no need for a remote

    Re: Animal Plastics LED Option

I also recently placed an order for an AP T10 not 3 hours ago, my first one!

As for the LED controller, I am going to move my ZooMed Repticare outlet timer over to my three T10s (When i order the next 2 hopefully in the next 2 months) to oversee the light cycles in the enclosure. They've worked wonders with the 3 heat lamps i have over my terrarium tanks now. It's an extremely flexible and programmable piece of hardware that it quite accurate down to the minute. I set it so it turns my lamps off at exactly 8:05 PM every night! Pretty great for an analog timer!

Here's a link, they're running pretty cheap on Amazon these days:

    https://www.amazon.com/Zoo-Med-Laboratories-Terrarium-Controller/dp/B008RQ7JDK/ref=asc_df_B008RQ7JDK/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167136460722&hvpos=1o3&hvnetw=g&hvrand=144441608860656627 86&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9015082&hvtargid= pla-310603224635&psc=1

You can pretty much set this device to turn on and off your lighting as many times as you want during the day.

While it may not be remote control from your couch, you can set it up once and never have to worry about it again while it goes through its 24 hour day cycles. I highly recommend.
