    Vivarium electronics hygrometer accuracy?

I just set up my hatchling enclosure (15 qt tub) with a UTH, thermostat, and vivarium electronics thermometer/hygrometer. The reading for the ambient temperature of the room (72 F) is accurate, but the humidity is reading at 53%, which seems unusually high for an empty tub. The humidity outside is 39%, but I have a lot of aquariums... could that be the cause of such a large increase? Has anyone experienced an inaccurate reading with this hygrometer? I want to be sure I have the right parameters before I bring my baby home.

Humidity isn't something I worry too much about in all honesty. ..
Mine all get sprayed fairly regularly and increase the spraying to a few times daily when they're in shed mode - all shed perfectly .

Oddly enough Hygrometers all seem useless to unreliable unless you spend a fortune .... humidity is clearly harder to read than temperature as even those 3 dollar thermometers with wired probes are remarkably accurate and reliable..

My VE hygrometer/thermometers (same/similar model) worked great and were accurate: until they didn't work at all.
I lost 3 of 3 this year after a few months of use-display fouled up and/or totally dead (even with new batteries).
