Re: it's that time of year for me

It's so much easier to buy in bulk, I've got 5 people at work with snakes so easier for me to order for everyone and dish them out accordingly when the arrive at the end of the day, they in liquid nitrogen blocks so stay really frozen, I always get them delivered to work so easy to distribute to my Freinds , just have to warn the goods in guys that I'm getting a delivery, not too bad as one of the goods in guys has two large corns so some are normally for him anyway.
I have a freezer dedicated to them in the shed, so we get an order every few months ,this way some of the younger snakes can get there upgrade with out having a freezer with loads to small prey that won't fill them

Re: it's that time of year for me

My freezer is stuffed with large rabbits and rats and pinky rats and fuzzies. But i'm COMPLETELY out of small rats, low on mediums, and low on adult mice (although I might get rat pups this time, same size more expensive... more healthy maybe?). It's hard for me to spend the few hundred dollars every few months lol

Well I was looking for info but I wish that all I needed for a year to feed snakes. I think we use 10 small and at least 2 medium/large a feeding and that been cut back for a while cause i been unemployed ( undesirable for jobs) due to the Cerebral palsy. I been trying to get back into breeding my own rats but I need to figure out a better ( lower smelling system) cause ASF dont cut it enough and I lack a proper place to do rats now.

4thesnakelady and I have even talked about reducing our collection down as most what we wanted to breed for we could probably buy out right now cheaper than breeding for now a days. plus with our sugar gliders and her working more it seems unfair to keep the snakes without much interaction.
Was married to 4theSNAKElady (still wish we were)

It's like... You want a bp... You read a stupid article about "beginner easy cheap snake".... "using only heat mat for 20 dollars" ... "You'll be okay with 20g long all life"...
And then you fall in love and start researching. And you find all those scary things like 200 dollars for food and you're like Why the hell do I not just keep the hamster or so...
