Hognose maybe gravid, not laying eggs?

Hello all! I just recently bought a western hognose and the breeder said that there is a chance she might be gravid, she locked up with a super conda morph.

My concern is that it’s been 12 days since her pre-lay shed and I don’t see any eggs yet. Can hognoses lock up and have a chance to not have eggs? Or is she holding on to them because she doesn’t feel secure in her enclosure?

Any info will help, I’m worried that this might severely impact her health if she’s retaining eggs. Thanks in advance!

They lay their eggs anywhere from 3 to 20 days after pre-lay.

Are you positive it was a pre-lay shed?

    Can you see the eggs?

And yes a lock regardless of the species does not mean eggs.

No I’m not positive, as I said in the first part of the post, the breeder said there might be a chance that she is gravid

I’m not certain how eggs will looks but I’m assuming it’s varies from snake to snake based on length and how fat or skinny it is. Based on the photos I uploaded, can you tell me?

Can't tell from a pic especially when it's not an animal that I know in person.

If gravid you will have some swelling in the mid section , if you hold her head up tail down and look at her profile you will clearly see the eggs if she has had her pre-lay 12 days ago, as the female get closer to laying, you will start seeing the first egg closer to the cloaca.

Did you provide a lay box just in case?

Yup, lay box is in place, incubator is ready to go, just waiting I guess. I’m just worried because I haven’t seen eggs yet..
