Re: Got a call about Rainbow from my roommate. Heading home.

Got a call from the vet. So far everything is negative so the true cause is still a mystery. One test left and wont hear back till tomorrow. Getting a stool sample yesterday was easy. when the vet restrained her to check her out she let go of everything else she had. No sign of blood in it or in her cage this morning. She is hiding still digesting her meal from Sunday. Have a second visit tomorrow at 5 with the vet. Spending mad $$ but she is worth it.

Thanks for the update. I'm hoping it was just a fluke thing and she is all good. Please let us know as you hear more.

Do snakes get hemorrhoids? (I guess we'll find out?)

Re: Got a call about Rainbow from my roommate. Heading home.

Ok. So we went back for the blood work results. No contributing factors. Everything came back healthy.

So no parasites, none thing showed up on Ultra Sound, no UTI, as far as we can tell or guess is that she strained to hard to get it out? Everything looks good down there and when she pissed on the doctor everything was clear. The doctor did say she was a little dehydrated and to give her a good swim a couple of times a week. I do make sure she has access to lots of water but is to small for her to swim in at this point. She does love her time in the bathtub when I put her in there. Might schedule weekly soakings for her. I did ask about injecting water in her food and the doctor said that was not necessary and that the soakings should help. Her humidity in her enclosure is in the 60 to 65 percent range so that is not the issue. I check it with to hydrometers. Can't force her to drink. LOL. Took her home and let her have a good swim. Once I returned her to her enclosure she was behaving hungry. Keep in mind she eat a large Guinea Pig Sunday. The lump was gone and after she pooped in protest at the vets office she might be done digesting it already. WOW is all I can say. The last one kept her satisfied for 3 weeks. I am holding off till Sunday and might offer her a smaller meal of some kind. Most likely a small chicken.

Even though my pockets are over $400.00 lighter, I don't regret getting he checked out. Love my girl. The US did show follicles in there. The doctor scanned everything and just mentioned it. No desire to breed her and she is to young and small to do so safely.

    Love my Rainbow.
