    Feeding/Activity

    Hi everyone,
First time posting on here, wish me luck... lol

I got my first BP in November of this last year. Everything is going pretty well so far, but I have a couple of questions.

A- She is extremely active sometimes, all times of the day. I built her an enclosure, complete with trickling waterdish and live plants. When I first put her in there (about a month ago), she was pretty mellow. Now however, she's cruising all over all day. Up and down her fake tree, lounging in her water dish, all sorts of stuff. She's showing no signs of stress that i've been told to keep an eye out for, but it makes me a bit nervous. Temps and humidity are very consisten in the new enclosure too. Anyone have input as to that behavior?

B- She is a good eater. I've only had her refuse food twice, and they were both just before sheds. But... I had someone at a specialty reptile shop tell me I should "fast" her from time to time. Is this a thing and is it a good idea?

Any and all info you can spare is greatly appreciated!
    Thank you!

Welcome to the forum and the wonderful world of snake keeping!!

    A) we'll need to know more to help you out.
    - How are you heating the enclosure?
    - what are your temps?
    - are your heat sources regulated by a thermostat?
    - are there at least two appropriate hides?
    - how big is the enclosure?
    - How much does the snake weigh?
    - what size prey are you offering and how often?

    B) there is no need to intentionally fast your BP. They'll do that all on their own occasionally.

The more you tell us the better we can accurately help you and your snake.

    Re: Feeding/Activity

^Everything in the above post ^

Plus .... what kind of thermometer are you using to check the crucial Viv floor surface temps of the warm and cool sides ?

Maybe one similar to this ?

My tip would me to get yourself a ten dollar digital temp gun to enable you to random test all the crucial temps

    Found on eBay or Amazon
