We stopped in the pet shop a few doors down from the restaurant while we were waiting for our take-out order. While there an employee took a corn snake out of an improperly heated enclosure and was holding it. My 7 year old daughter asked to pet the snake. The employee said sure and when my daughter touched the snake she told the employee that the snake was too cold. The employee agreed and complained to another employee who said yeah, he wouldn't buy a snake from the shop. He said they take good care of the $400 dollar dogs but careless about the reptiles. My daughter then noticed that the snakes didn't have hides. She got quite upset and told me that 'It wasn't fair. All the snakes should have hides.' There was no comment from the staff on that one. I told them that I certainly wouldn't buy a snake from that store and we decided to go wait for our take-out order some where else. It's sad that my 7 year old has a better idea about husbandry than the pet shop. I'm going to stay out of that store. Visiting is too frustrating.
