    Too big? Too small?

My girl Aphrodite is 2 years old and I’d say about a foot and a half long. She is currently eating medium mice but I’m not sure if these are the right size for her? She eats them fine but the mediums seem a bit big for how thick around she is. Thoughts?

Do you know her weight? And the weight of the prey? She doesn't look to be having a hard time with her meal. Hopefully someone with more experience will chime in , just surprised she isn't on rats yet, she is gorgeous congratulations.

Without knowing her weight it's hard to say, but at that age large mice are usually even too small and they need at least two.

Most girls are on medium rats at that age. I have girls that are eating medium rats at 6-8 months (I have some large snakes and I am breeding for this trait). My girls would giggle if I tried to feed them a mouse. I have a single girl that I keep on small rats because she skips too many meals otherwise. Prey should be the width of the largest part of the snakes body. Weigh your snake and look at the chart Craig gave you.

Rub some mouse on them. It will increase the chances of her taking it the first time.

Are you able to get weights? If not, does the rat look about the same width as the snake at its widest point?
