Happy this little one is thriving. My daughter loved to hold him while she was here. She is a reptile girl!
Thank you so much! Yeah, Django's my buddy. I love love love all my snakes, but there's just something special about that guy!
Eeden seems to really be thriving with you. Great work!
I've never kept Milks, but if they're as close to their King cousins as I understand them to be, they'll typically eat ANYthing, ANY time. So don't rush the feedings.
Keep up the great work! It's such a rewarding feeling to turn a troubled snake around. Be proud of yourself and enjoy your new buddy!

Gues what Eeden weighed in at last night a feeding time?
122g! He has put on almost 40g!
He he is still eating two fuzzies. He refuses to take three so I'm going to switch up to a hopper and crush the skull so he can swallow it. He needs more at this point.
He is such an awesome little one!

That's great news! It sounds like he is doing fantastic for you.
Although, I will say that unless you have particularly large hoppers, he shouldn't have an issue with the size of a hopper at that weight, I don't think. I'd be curious to see a side-by-side (maybe glass in between?) to see why you're thinking he needs the skull crushed to get it down.
My honduran milk snake, Ghost, was taking 9-12 gram hoppers on occaision no problem at around 100 grams.

Nice job Sunnie and Eeden!!!
I don't think you need to crush the skulls, either. I'd offer one and see what heppens. It'll likely go down easy breezy. If there seems to be any difficulty maybe crush a few. The jump in prey size will likely result in a growth spurt too, so even if you need to crush a few you won't have to for long.

anytime I jump in size for colubrids at work I crush the skulls for two feedings just to be sure.

Most colubrids are delighted to eat f/t...it's BPs that often balk because they want it warm as if alive. It's so nice to see Eedens in such good hands now.
