He's in shed!

My first BP I got at the end of April is finally in shed! I was getting worried about him, as the breeder told me he didn't know when he last shed, so I thought it was going on a while. Good to know he's on track!

So I'm wondering if there's anything else I need to do for him except bump the humidity and leave him alone? Just making sure ^^ Thanks!

Keep a look out for his eyes clearing and getting his colour back then start spraying every day .... morning , noon and night etc every day until you find the shedded skin - note they can shed up to 5 or 6 days AFTER they get their colour back .
This works for all mine and I find a messy , crumpled lump of ski under one of the hides days later

Offering a humid hide always works for my snakes. Just add some damp, not sopping wet, sphangnum moss in their hides. Easy breezy

Congratulations!

My first BP is in the shedding process which will only be her seconded time with me, so we're kind of in the same boat.

She had a great shed last time and all I did was bump her humidity to a higher than normal level ( in the 77-88% range) which you are already doing.

Thanks everyone! I'm glad that he waited until I wrapped the top of his tank with tin foil, as before that I had trouble keeping the humidity at an appropriate level, nevermind increasing it! But now that it's wrapped, when I spray it can easily go up to 70-80 percent (maybe that's a bit high but that's only for shedding, he normally lives with 50-60).

I'm also glad he's gone blue a few days before feeding day so I know to skip it. I know some BPs will eat when in shed but I'd rather not risk a $4 rat when it will most likely be refused

You should also post these instructions for him, just in case:

1. Drink water & yawn to loosen skin on face...
2. Rub nose to peel upper jaw back over your head...
3. Rub chin to peel lower jaw skin back under your throat...
4. Slither forward while skin rolls down...use branches or other objects in cage as needed...
5. Do the best you can to ignore your human, who is only impressed if you don't tear it off in pieces.
6. Don't worry if you screwed up, you'll get another chance to redeem yourself in a month or two.
7. Remember that humans use their hands to undress...how lame is that?
