The results from the necropsy are in....

So in the time frame since my last post, I had 2 more snakes die, thats 4/9 that I got from that batch I bought on craigslist. The necropsy came back and they died of bacteria, Salmonella and Ecoli........needless to say I am relived it wasnt anything I did, and relieved its not a virus. But now I know.....really upset about this but it happens and you must go on......now I can give my little girl a reason, might help her deal better...

Wow that is terrible and good all in the same time, horrible that your family had to go thru losing your new friends, but good to know what is going on. I hope your daughter isn't to upset ~healing hugs from across the miles ~

A spoon full of sugar does help the medicine go down, and who doesn't love a big ball, hope the person who sold you those snakes buys a nice meal with that money and chokes on it (Well a little bit at least)

My daughter gets the sugar, my wife gets the wine, I get the rum. I am upset but I honestly believe they didn't know, I could be wrong but I try to see the best in people.

That's always a good thing I do too but sometimes (unfortunately I seen people at their worse) just glad it isn't contagious and you can move on knowing you did everything you could

Did the vet suggest any kind of preventive treatment for the ones that are still alive? They were likely all exposed.

I'm so sad to hear you lost more...I'm glad you got some answers from the vet, but it's still hard for your daughter to process, I'm sure.

I shudder to think how so many snakes from one place could all be so sick from this stuff...one imagines they were kept in deplorable filth &/or fed roadkill.

For what it's worth, it never occurred to me to think you were in any way responsible...I mean, you didn't have them very long.

She said to just keep very clean and the others should be fine and long as not items were shared between the snakes, or they werent kept in the same tank/tub together. I told her I always wash my hands thoroughly when I switch from snake to snake during cleaning and use smell less hand sanitize. She said the others should be fine then because its not something the others can get airborn.

Thank you, that does mean something to me. I try to be as responsible as possible with these snakes, and spend tons of money making sure they have everything they need. I was so worried it was something I had done, It took a lot for me to not keep checking on all my snakes until I got word back.
