Damian ate for me! Was live but it’s a start

So I got Damian close to two weeks ago. I tried feeding him F/T about two days after he arrived. (Too short of a time I know). He was not interested at all. I then tried again, same response.. not interested at all. I figured I would get a meal in belly since it was getting close to 3 weeks with no food and he’s about a month and a half old (100ish grams). He’s in a rack so I put the adult mouse inside (mouse had eaten and drinkin recently) and closed it. I walked away and was going to check in about 10 minutes. As soon as I opened the door I heard a squeak. I checked back in another 10 minutes and Damian was hanging half way out his hide with no mouse to be seen. I am extremely happy. I was getting nervous because he is my first snake and he is in my bedroom (high traffic area). I thought he’d never get comfortable enough to eat. anyway, I plan on feeding one more live next week then try F/T again. I figure with two good meals in his belly if he refuses once or twice he’ll be okay. Needless to say I’m a very happy snake dad!

I don't have a ball but I had some problems with my Retic not eating at first and F/T. I ended up giving him a live and no problem. Then what I did next time was get a small mouse compared to what he normally would eat. Then as soon as he ate that I gave him a F/T. Did that a couple times and now his food drive has kicked into overdrive. If you come close to his cage he comes out looking for some food. I know Balls have a different feeding response but sometimes you gotta get the food in them. I once had a Ball that would only eat gerbils, drove me nuts!
