Young BP Shedding Question!

Hello Everyone!

So, I have a question about shedding and young BPs.

My ball python had her last she May 4th, so that's around...5 ish weeks since her last shed. I just realized it's been that long and was wondering if that is okay.

She is now 7 months old, 224 Grams, and 2 feet long.

I was wondering if it could mean that there is a problem if they don't shed after a long time, especially if they are a younger BP?

Is it fine for a young BP to not have shed in almost 6 weeks?

How often do yours shed?

snakes shed as they grow. if a young beep isn't shedding, it isn't growing.

young beeps should be shedding every 90-120 days. i say should because every animal is an individual and it can vary. as long as your snake is eating regularly and gaining weight, they will shed when they're supposed to shed.

Shed is based on growth, growth is based on feeding (frequency and prey size)

So it varies from an individual to another, no magic number.

Haha! Olive must have heard my thoughts yesterday about her not shedding in a while.

This morning I was doing her regular routine and lifted her hide to check HS and she has cloudy eyes! Just thought this was funny.

Time to bump her humidity up!

If you track sheds and weight gains, you can GUESS around when they will go into shed again. Once again, based on growth or you may say when the last skin starts getting a bit too snug. I have seen with all of mine that when they were around the weight of yours. they seemed to shed after gaining around 65-75 grams since the last shed. The ones I have that are around 600 ish grams shed about every 100-120 gram gain. The one that is 1500 grams just went into shed again after a gain of about 225 grams and my largest one which is around 2300 grams has only shed once since I got her so I cant gauge it yet with her.
