LOL. Nope, my mom lives vicariously through me regarding reptiles. She likes them, but a) would not feed a snake and b) her husband Tom, my stepfather, doesn't understand how/why we like them so much. He's not a hater, but he's a dog lover and doesn't feel reptiles are affectionate at all. He's not scared (he says) and will sit next to me or my mom when we hold them, but refuses to touch or hold them.

On a side note. Both my mother and Tom are the kind of people who feel cars are a necessity and rave about how great their whole home generator is and how they cannot live without it, etc. However, refuse to do basic maintenance on either, and then when a major problem arises, that prevents them from from getting from points A to B, or leaves them in the dark and cold, they are furious.

I've tried to explain the concept of keeping things up so you can count on them, but to no avail. I would have zero faith in them properly maintaining temps and humidity in a reptile enclosure.

My mother repeatedly gives me kudos for how well I maintain the reptile tanks and also praises me for trying to educate others on proper care for their reptiles, both on this forum, and elsewhere. She admits she couldn't do it and thinks it's great for me and the animals.

Also, I meticulously maintain my cars and my whole home generator as well (which I 90% have for the reptiles and because I live in the North East where it can get very cold and we get brutal winter storms).

I used to keep large (240G) fish tanks before my kidneys gave out and I had more energy. That was work. To me, the reptiles are a breeze.

Solana weighed in, dry, today at 50G! WOW!

She has grown so much! She's looking amazing and is still a total sweetie, and, still very calm for a corn snake, or any snake, really.

I am going to feed 7-8G Fuzzy's this week and probably next, and then switch to small hoppers.

If you get up close she probably has shrimp-breath! She's got some electric-color, that's for sure!

Yeah, I can't believe it either, Rich. She's is absolutely gorgeous, and so calm and easy handle. No surprise, she's been that way since day 3 at 2 months old and 8G! It took all of 2 days to get over the attack anything that comes in my tank and rattle my tail phase. I can't blame her, I would be scared if I was 8G and a 200 pound (90,719G) person reached and tried to grab me too!

They do grow fast. It's crazy.

It fairness, it's only been 6 months. She turns 8 months on 12-23-18 and I got her 6-21-18 at 2 days shy of 2 months.

Don't tell Katie I got that close though, okay? However, if you have to tell Katie, please tell her that she is definitely the better kisser. That's the truth! Katie is the only one who sends electricity down my spine too, even if Solana has the electric coloring.

Solana ate her first hopper tonight. It was a small hopper, 9G, but the biggest meal Solana has had yet. She gobbled it right down!

I think I forgot to mention, but Solana has been, and will remain on a 7 day feeding schedule (every Sunday like the rest of the crew) at least until full grown, at which point, I will re-evaluate. She's been eating every 7 days since she went to Fuzzy's over 6-7G.

Solana is growing like a weed! Hoppers = growth spurt.

She's 60G and due to shed again.

Thanks Rich. It's amazing how fast corn snakes can grow, especially when they start eating bigger, more nutritious, meals.

They can also eat big meals relative to their size and just put it to growth with their fast metabolisms. They are NOT boids! LOL.

She's 60G and eating 9-10G hoppers. Feliz, a BCC, is 165G (last dry weight) and eating 15G small mice (although I should bump him soon). Both are eating weekly currently, but obvisouly, proportionately, a much bigger meal for Solana, with no ill effects. If Feliz ate the same meal proportionately, he would be eating a 25G+ adult mouse and that would not be good for him!

I digressed here, but I find it interesting how different snakes have many different needs when it comes to things like food intake, temps, humidity, cage size, etc. I know it's obvious that they would, coming from different regions, but to me, it's part of the fun of having 12 different reptiles (although only 8 different genus and 10 different species); knowing and meeting their individual requirements. Learning about it is fun, but executing and maintaining their environments is very gratifying to me.

Oh, and she's dull as can be, FYI - about to shed. LOL! Look at the difference from the picture above where she is 50G.
