Anybody else struggle to keep temps up in AP cages?

Finally assembled all three AP cages. Two T8s and one T10. I'm trying to get the temps set on the T10 right now and I can't get the floor above 84-85. Does anybody else have this problem?

I use a combination of UTHs and CHEs for my AP cages so I don't have any temp issues. How are you heating yours?

Well maybe I'm just impatient and it needed more than 12 hours to get to the temps I needed. It's now above 90 so I turned the thermostat down and we'll see if it levels off or if I need to keep tweaking it. I do have a CHE on the other end as the room I'll be keeping all three cages is in is on the cooler side.

Why would you use a CHE over a RHP in a PVC cage? Seems to kind of defeat the whole purpose of going PVC as bolting a RHP to the roof of the PVC cage is much easier and safer. I see the point of a CHE on a tank where bolting a RHP to the roof would be a pain as you would first have to fabricate a roof.

The CHE is sitting on a cutout with a mesh grill that was cut by AP. I find this to be easier than using an RHP as well as more cost effective given my current finances.
