Re: Down to two retics come tomorrow!
I would love to have more than one snake but realistically she's a female Burm and in 4 or 5 years things will be very different. Personally, I can only really give one large snake the care and attention she needs.
Check out this pic of an adult Mainland in a bath. Only you know if you can house several of these guys.

They're beautiful animals but I truly think if you make a feeding error with a snake that size then it won't end well despite the number of people there.

Looks fat to me. As for size, hard to gauge but I'd believe its a real photo.

Very well said my man!
That is disgusting and sad as far as feeding goes.
NO wild retic looks like that, and never should.
People seem to get very excited that retics always take food and I think that is a huge mistake.
YES, they can take and digest more and faster than boa constrictors, but there is simply no good reason to have something that visually looks like that snake.
Sauzo sees it, I see it and my guess is anybody that actually studies the real biology of these animals will also see it.
I doubt that is a photo shop picture.
Length is one thing, but in order to be a healthy retic, they all need to be lean and agile.

While I agree that's a really big one, you might be surprised how girthy an adult mainland female can get. I wouldn't consider her obese but she is very well fed that's for sure.

Yeah she doesn't look obese she just looks very well fed can't get a good shot of her head but it looks proportion with her body somewhat

I think that if everyone were to look at retic’s in the wild. They would be surprised at the size difference. Unfortunately there are people that are over 500 pounds. That’s not natural nor healthy, but it happens. Sadly people do the same to their pets. I do believe if we raised retic’s to their natural wild size they would be healthier and wouldn’t look like Burmese pythons, with a different skin color.

I agree, and while they can get girthy they should not.
This IMO is a perfect and beautiful example of a retic.

Lean, lean, lean and pure muscle.
They are the most agile of the big constrictors, with the possible exception of the scrub.
I'll put money on it that the particular snake here is not hurting for food. The location its in, likely has more food choices than it needs. In and around populated areas they they do quite well, liken the coastal carpets down under.
This snake makes the bathtub animal look quite out of shape.
And one more beauty!

Those are gorgeous reticulated pythons wow, and agree the snake in the tub even with my poor eye sight could see back fat or love handles, I doubt it a healthy weight
