Re: Guess who?
She is a high white California king snake. I will post more photos tonight when I get home. Her name is going to be Oreo. She is healthy but very much a baby still.

You know you have a good snake when you only have to see a tiny bit of it to know its absolutely gorgeous! Can't wait to see more!

She almost glows. Put a black light on her and bam! Not sure black light is good for her though?

Awesome pickup!!! As most on here know, I love love LOVE Kings!! High whites are gorgeous!! Wait til you get her in natural sunlight after a shed!!! BAM, her blacks and whites are gonna pop and the contrast will be spectacular!! One of my old 50/50 black and whites was one of the best looking animals I ever kept. (Not as nice as Django though, in case he ever sees this )
Be SUPER careful, they are FANTASTIC escape artists. At that size they are dart quick and can fit almost anywhere.
Good luck!! Not sure if you've got experience with colubrids, but they're a lot of fun!

I have had several corns and kings before. Love them. One of my corns lived almost 25 years. I will just be happy when she gets so she doesn't musk when you pick her up. After you hold her a min she is active and fun little girl. Not nippy at all. From my experience most kings are great animals if cared for properly. My list for my collection includes 1 milk snake, 1 corn, and 1 GTP (will be the most expensive and challenging of them all). I want to do educational shows and teach people about them and have examples for everyone to see, from small to large, (non-venomous), what great animals they can be.
Rainbow was feared by this one person until her kids held her and her hands were shaking when she first held her. Now when she sees me they all run up with hopes of touching and handling her. Was a nice transitioning of the mom from fear to love. They got their first family snake last weekend (a corn snake). I think corns make great first snakes. I made sure they had what they needed for proper care of their new loved pet.
This is part of my plan. I also stress the respect they require (not just the warm fuzzy side).
