Which style did you buy? his older version or the newer ones?



Did Boaphile change the plastic he uses? I had a stack bought in 2002, the pvc was not porous on those. The (silver) hinges and bolts did rust over time which was just annoying to replace. One he sent had a cracked corner and he sent me a replacement cage, I had my stack of cages for about 12 years before I sold them off.

As for the Boaphiles, i dont know as i never owned one. Ace Boas over on ReptileInsider forums did a comparison of the AP and Boaphiles cages as he had both. Also a few other people mentioned that the material was more porous.

Cages are plastic boxes. You have a lot of control over them
how you seal them how you set them up it’s all up to you.
I’ve used Proline for 6 years without issue. No leaks nothing. I’ll put my cages up against anything out there and end up preferring mine. Why? Because I set them up MY way.
HDPE plastic is by far the safest if that matters to you.

I had many options and the best bang for buck was Proline. If you are getting a deal I see no reason not to go for it. With those, or ANY cage that is in good condition.

I’ll send you pictures of my cages if you want. If your deal is good order some backgrounds and make a zoo quality visual setup to enjoy.

Nothing at all wrong with those cages that I can see. Clean them, reseal them and set them up properly and you will be fine.

Your snakes won’t care what brand your cage is as long as it meets their needs.

Here are the Pro-Lines.

No warping, no leaking, no issues. I wipe the plastic glass with microfiber towels and warm water. The doors drop so I don't scratch them. If I had sliders, I'd get glass.








I'll say it again, ANY cage you score for a nice deal, that has been well maintained and cared for is worth a look.

With time, all things can show some wear and tear. Part of the hobby is fixing things that break or wear out.

I'd take a Boaphile, AP, Pro-Line or whatever if the deal was right and it fits my needs.

The reason I have what I have now is because the price point was the best for the sizes I required.

Honestly, if you like that deal and the product is good, go for it!

I agree, Neodesha cages are very well-made & secure. When I did programs with native rattlesnakes, I had smaller* Neodesha cages in which they traveled securely,
though I customized the vents with another wire mesh screen, leaving a large gap between so that IF someone got near my cages AND put their hand on the screen
vent, and IF a rattlesnake decided to tag them, their fangs couldn't go thru both screens plus the 1" gap. The pegs that keep the sliding glass locked can be replaced
with padlocks for travel & shows also. My only challenge using Neodesha was that when you get substrate or feces in the track, the door will be hard to slide, as the
glass is already heavy. The way the glass slides also limits where you can put these & still open them, but all cages have pros & cons. (*I had large Neodeshas too)

Oh i dont know. I just threw it out there since i saw the Neodeshas and Prolines lol.

And it is a nice deal, about 50% off but i think they are the 36x2314 cages which if the OP intends to keep boas in them, he will need to upgrade to larger caging in a few years.

From my experience with Proline cages themselves (nothing to do with Ed), i would skip them and just put together a stack of AP cages as you need them. Now if he can get them for that $250 dollars he threw out, I would jump on those faster than a fat kid on a twinkie lol. I ended up selling my 48x23x14 Proline with a Pro Products PH3 65 watt RHP for like $100.
