How do I set up a tub for my BP?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I am planning on buying my first BP from a breeder online and want to have my tub set up beforehand. I have heard that a tub is less hassle than a tank and it’s easier to moderate the temp. So, I have a few questions to ask...

    1) What kind of tub and what size do I need? (I want to buy a baby snake so I’m assuming it’ll be anywhere from a hatchling to a few months old)

    2) What is the best type of bedding? (Newspaper, aspen, etc)

    3) How many hides do I need? I read two is best; one for the cold side and one for the warm side

    4) What are all the different thermometers/heating stuff required?

Sorry this is a lot, I just want to have the best home for my snake. I have done my own research but I hear different things so wanted to hear from any experienced owners. Thanks a lot!

Tub setup for hatchling BPs here

I use a little bit bigger tub so I could provide two identical hides, one on the cool side and one on the warm side, but otherwise follow this to a T.

1.0 Lesser Mojave Ball Python "Neptune"; 1.0 Western Hognose "Murray"

    Lizards:
    1.0 Bearded Dragon "Nigel"

    Tarantulas:
    0.1 G. Rosea "Charlotte"; 0.1 B. Albopilosum "Matilda"; 0.1 C. Versicolor "Bijou"; 1.0 B. Boehmei "Lightening McQueen"

    Inverts:
    1.0 Emperor Scorpion "Boba"

    Dog & Cats:

1.0 Doberman Pinscher "Bulleit"; 1.0 Siamese Cat "Boudreaux"; 1.0 British Shorthair Cat "Oliver”

    Goats:
    "Hazelnut" & "Huckleberry"

Re: How do I set up a tub for my BP?

Do yourself a favor and don't skimp on the thermostat. Invest in a Herpstat 1 or similar proportional t-stat now and save yourself hassle/money down the road. Most first time owners don't expect such a big expense along with everything else they're buying and avoid investing in a proper one... don't!
