    Probe for Animal Plastics T10

I order my T10 awhile ago and it should be coming soon. I was just wondering where do you guys put the thermostat prob for the RHP? Does it fit in the slots on the back? I have a Herpstat 2 with the stainless steel probes and I’m getting a 88watt RHP. I don’t have a drill so I want to tell AP to drill the hole if I need to before they ship it to me.

They will have to drill it if you dont want to. The probe will not fit through the vent slots. I would either drill a hole on top next to the RHP and then bend a coat hanger wire so the probe can be zip tied to it and set up under the RHP and then taped to the cage on the outside of the cage. Or i would do the same thing but come in from the side of the cage next to the RHP. This is how i am going to do the RHP for Pat the biaks cage.

    Probe for Animal Plastics T10

Make sure to tell Ali to have a 5/16” hole drilled. They made a 1/4” hole for my stat probe and it was just barely too small. Had to drill it wider with a 5/16” bit. The steel tipped probes may be a little more slim though, 1/4” may work?

So the probe doesn’t go on the cool side?

Depends. Some set them up on the cool side and some set them up on the hot side. I have run mine both ways. If you want it on the cool side, then I would just use a dremel and make a half moon divet in the back wall piece so you can lay the probe wire in the divet and then put the top of the cage down if that makes sense. That way you arent drilling a hole and can make the divet the exact size of the probe wire. Then just let the probe hang down just above the height of your boa so it cant sit on it or poop or piss on it. Also if the boa hits it, it will just swing back to its original position.

It's pretty easy with a 1/4" drill bit and a little finesse - you MAY need the 5/16" depending on your probe though. I have all of my probes on the "cool" side towards the middle. Herpstat controlled RHP set to 84 (for my BP and some of my boas) and my "cool" side is 82 probe reads 84 regularly. I'm OCD and check my temps/humidity 3x a day. My snakes do well and have perfect sheds.

    Good luck!!!

Yesterday I posted pictures of my RHP probe placement and mounting for my new RBI viv. Here is a link to that thread: https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...nder-substrate

    Probe for Animal Plastics T10

Does anyone have a interior pic of the back of a t-10 with a basking shelf? I’m trying to figure out where I would put it I almost forgot that I ordered a shelf lol.
