Well, Ax01 do you think from the picture that it is what it was sold to me as? I am horrible at recognizing genes from appearances so I am probably too trusting to believe what a breeder tells me it is.

The only picture I have of the Axanthic is this one and The breeder told me it was 100% het for Pied. I will have to wait till he isbig enough to prove that out. He is only in the low 400 grams range now.

i just remembered and saw this reply. yes, your BP is an Axanthic Leopard. but i can't tell from that one pix if it is het Pied. the best way to tell is from breeder trust and pairing that included at least 1 visual Pied parent for 100% het. that tail pattern looks interesting tho as the side pattern looks kinda melted and running together or it might be an exaggerated Leo Pattern. (visual het Pied indicators include ringers, railroad tracks and melted patterns).

Edit: i have a Leo girl that might be triple het (or nothing at all lol) and she looks like a normal Leo. cute but normal looking. her brother that i have has a partial ringer.

ok nothing visually jumps out to me to say it's Pied but it's fun train yourself. here's me stretching the visual cues:

the pink is "melted" tail pattern on the right side.

it also has "melted" pattern on the left side of the tail, again highlighted in pink.

the pink heart circles the world's smallest ringer. (the orange sausage link circles the sausage butt.)

i refer the the pattern "melted" in quotations b/c the melting has no impact on other patterns around it. there's no blushing or the black is not interrupted creating a more complex melting or ringer.

Edit: again the best way for 100% het Pied is the parentage/pairing that produced your animal. at least one parent had to be a visual Pied.

Dude, That is going above and beyond with you circling the areas you are referring to. Thank you for the training.
I looked on my Reptilescan and I did not get the parent's genes from that breeder. I usually send a text and ask for that info the week after a show that I buy from so either I forgot to ask or he didn't tell me. I did get the hatch date so I doubt that I forgot to ask. I will just have to wait till he gains a bit more weight and pair him to one of my 2 visual Pied females when they get big enough.

Love the Sausage circle. Yep he ate well last Sunday and had not turned it loose yet last night.
